Anything peanuts or tree nuts-related is always welcomed. I’m literally obsessed with them. These crispy crunchy peanut-shaped butter cookies are a nice addition to my Chinese New Year cookies collection. Previously, I have made these Melt-in-the-mouth Chinese Peanut Cookies (Mazola Peanut Cookies), which is one of my favorite peanut cookies.

This version is crispy and crunchy and the fun part is, they look like peanuts in shells.

Step into the origin of peanut butter cookies, originating from George Washington Carver's promotion of peanuts as a crop.

These beloved treats gained popularity during the Great Depression for their affordability and nutritional value. The iconic crisscross pattern we love today was a clever addition to these cookies. Curiously, the first published peanut butter cookie recipes surfaced in the early 1900s.

Their journey from homemade favorite to a cultural staple showcases their enduring charm.
